Terms

General terms of use

These terms govern access to Railzeno, a free railway information service that does not sell tickets.

Scope and acceptance

These terms form the agreement between anyone who browses or uses Railzeno and its operator, ACFA. They apply to the public website and to account or alert features when those features are activated.

By using the service, you agree to comply with these terms. If you do not accept them, you should stop using the service. Mandatory rights granted by applicable law remain unaffected.

Purpose of the service

Railzeno collects, normalises and presents railway information from identified sources so that journeys and changes are easier to understand.

  • Search for passenger railway stations and available services.
  • View timetables, calls, delays, cancellations, platforms, freshness and source information when supplied.
  • Summaries, important alerts and sign-in links.
  • Check the coverage and limitations of each country and provider.

Informational nature of railway data

Schedules, platforms, routes, cancellations, delays and estimated positions may be incomplete, delayed, corrected or changed without notice. An estimate is not a GPS observation, and the data displayed does not create or amend a transport contract.

Before travelling or taking action, check the operator's official information and follow announcements and staff instructions in the station or on board.

Accounts and alerts

The user remains responsible for the email address and alert rules they configure.

An alert is a convenience and is not guaranteed to arrive before an operational change. Delivery can be delayed or prevented by the data source, network, browser, email provider or the recipient's settings. Alerts can be changed or deleted by the user.

Free service and absence of ticket sales

The current service is free, does not sell railway tickets and does not collect payment. No sales terms apply to the current version.

Before any paid plan, ticket sale or other paid service is offered, separate sales terms, prices, payment rules and any mandatory consumer information will be published and accepted through an appropriate process.

Third-party sources and licences

Railway and map data remains subject to its producer's availability, technical limits, licence, attribution rules and permitted forms of reuse. Access to this site does not transfer any third-party database or intellectual-property right. Consult the sources and licences.

Acceptable use

The service must be used lawfully and in a way that does not harm other users, the publisher or its providers. In particular, you must not:

  • overload, disrupt, probe or degrade the website, API, workers or connected providers;
  • bypass access controls, rate limits, security measures or technical restrictions;
  • impersonate another person, use an address without permission or submit misleading information;
  • publish, extract or reuse content in breach of a licence, database right, intellectual-property right or applicable law;
  • carry out automated collection outside a documented interface or without prior written authorisation when it creates excessive load or conflicts with source licences.

Intellectual property

The Railzeno name, interface, original copy, visual elements and software are protected to the extent allowed by law. Normal personal use of the service is permitted. No other licence is granted implicitly, and third-party data remains governed by its own terms.

Availability, maintenance and suspension

The publisher aims to keep the service accessible but cannot promise continuous or error-free availability. Maintenance, incidents, traffic, source outages, licence changes or force majeure can limit or interrupt all or part of the service.

Access may be limited or suspended when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate, the publisher may contact an account holder and allow the issue to be remedied.

Liability and external links

Users remain responsible for their travel decisions and for verifying important information with the railway operator. Subject to mandatory law, the publisher is not responsible for a missed train, connection, appointment or other loss caused solely by inaccurate, late or unavailable third-party information or by an event outside its reasonable control.

External links are provided for convenience. The publisher does not control third-party websites, their availability, content, security or privacy practices.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including any mandatory consumer protection that applies to the user.

Changes to the service or terms

The service and these terms may evolve. Material changes will be dated and published on this page and, when an account feature is active and the change requires it, notified through an appropriate channel. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only where permitted by law.

Applicable law, disputes and contact

Before starting formal proceedings, users are invited to send a detailed complaint so that an amicable solution can be sought. Mandatory rules concerning consumers, jurisdiction and dispute resolution take priority over this clause.

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
